Paul Carlton BVMS MRCVS (Commendation)
Paul hails from Glasgow; growing up he wanted to be a Vet but was also interested in a military career; he found a way to combine the two - whilst studying at Glasgow University Veterinary School he spent a brief period in the army with the Officer Training Corps. His University career must have been jam packed, as well as his studies and military training Paul also found time to win several trophies with his football team in a Private League. Paul qualified (BVMS with Commendation) in 2009 as well as completing (and passing!) a set of taxing additional exams to allow him to practice veterinary medicine in the USA.
Despite the option to work abroad Paul stuck to his Scottish roots and once qualified moved to Aberdeen where he spent two years in a Small Animal Veterinary Hospital learning he art of veterinary medicine and surgery. Whilst Paul enjoyed his time in Aberdeen he was drawn back to Glasgows bright lights. Paul admits he will always have a place in his heart for Aberdeen but won miss those Aberdonian winters!!
In his spare time Paul is a fitness fanatic- keen on running and sport in general. Professionally his interests include Feline and Canine Medicine (particularly endocrinology, cardiology and diagnostic imaging). Subjects in which Paul hopes to undertake the challenge of studying for a Veterinary Certificate in the near future.
Paul is a great asset to the PetsnVets team, he looks forward to meeting all of your pets!
